Guide to Convert AVI file to RMVB file using Easy Real Media Producer v1.94

I download a lot of anime from MU, mirc and other DDL sites and most of them are in avi format which I think is the best format to watch anime, but after 1 week of downloading, I found out my 80 gig hard drive to be full capacity already … so I decided to convert some of my anime to a smaller file format, I discovered RMVB format to at least closer in quality to the avi format …

this is the way I do it … I know there are a lot of guides out there … and I’m sure you can even refine my procedure … please keep in mind I am not a computer specialist, just an anime enthusiast …

First, download Easy RealMedia Producer from here:

Download Easy RealMedia Producer 1.94 – Easy RealMedia Producer is a software to generate RM/RMVB files in batches – Softpedia

install Easy RealMedia Producer via installshield (so that you can uninstall it later if you don’t want it) and after installation it will run already …

I change the Process Priority (1) from the default normal to highest … this is just to make the conversion run faster then click OK

to start the conversion process click ADD (2) to browse your hard drive for the AVI file you want to convert … after you have selected the video file you want to convert, it will appear on this window and click it to highlight it

you will see in the INPUT column the file you chose and the SIZE of the file … click on SETTINGS (3) to change some stuff including the OUTPUT where you want the converted file to be stored in your hard drive, so another window will pop out

these are the settings I use because it is my preference, you can play around with these setting if you like …

I select USE VBR (4) and I click on the CALCULATOR (5) to check the size of the converted file, another window will come out

I first click on the size because that’s the one I want to determine

… input the length of the video you want to convert (a) … in most cases, anime episodes will run for around less than 30 minutes, so if you’re not sure how long exactly the video is but it is an episodes that is part of a series, just put in 30 mins

… put in the bitrate you want (b) … the default is 450 , remember the higher the bitrate the larger the end result of the file converted … in this case I want to keep the video file at least less than 100 mb, so I chose 450 kbps (b)

I click on CALCULATE (c) to show the size of the converted file (encircled in red) 97593 kb, click on APPLY (d) and the settings window will revert itself

I change the Video Code (6) to Real Video 10

… then I check the LOSS PROTECTION box (7)

… you may check the RESIZE TO (8) if you want to make it smaller, but if you want to keep the original size of the video DON’T CHECK this one

… you may choose (9) SAME AS INPUT PATH if you want the converted video to be in the same folder as the original video … but if you want to save it on another folder put a check on SPECIFY A FILE NAME and click BROWSE to choose the folder or hard drive

… double check all the settings you chose and then click OK (10), the main window of the Easy Real Media Producer will come back

then you make click on START (11) to start the conversion … a progress bar will appear in the bottom

in this case, around 10% of the video has been converted (12) … a 30 minute video will take around 30 minutes to convert also (but this depend on the speed of your computer) … after it finished converting, open up the folder where you saved the converted video, you will notice the file size is approximate to the calculated one which is almost half the size of the original avi format … watch the RMVB format using Media Player Classic, VLC player or even Real Media Player … Enjoy!!! if you have any questions or problem about the procedure, just leave a message and I’ll try to help you out …

PS. I already have in my computer a pre-installed K-lite codec pack with Media Player Classic and did not install any additional codec after I installed the Easy Real Media Producer

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of searching at why their in fact a problem in genuine first location
